Your Drivers are often first on scene. Do they know what to do?
Our staff have extensive experience in working in and with the transport and driver training industry. We draw on this experience and combine it with 10 years of Remote Area First Aid training to bring you a unique perspective on First Aid training suited to both local and long haul transport alike.
Any training that complies with the National Training Standard (as ours does) will have framework to ensure that the content is recognised and consistent Australia wide. This forms the backbone of the course content for all accredited courses. However, inside those guidelines is a mandate to ensure that the training is contextualised to the needs of the learner. So whilst the training content is governed, the scenario's/case studies that it is applied to can be and should be industry specific. Make sure you look for training that is tailored to your work environment. As such, our courses are all designed around those topics that are statistically most relevant to the transport industry. And the stats show that truck drivers witness and are first on scene to road crashes and also suffer musculoskeletal injuries from the manual aspect of loading and driving trucks. This is the core approach of First Aid for Truck Drivers. We deliver the following courses;
To be nationally recognised all first aid training must adhere to the course requirements of the National Training Package course modules and codes. However, the scenarios and application of knowledge can be tailored to the individual requirements of an organisation and still meet all criteria. Most First Aid training companies will deliver the course THEY feel most comfortable with. This will tick the box and get you the qualification, but it falls short of having that training meet your company and employees where they are at. Our courses are designed for the transport industry based on the real statistics of injuries, illnesses and incidents that either happen to your staff or what they come across.
The short answer is ... YES, absolutely. Our training kit is fully portable and can arrive on your workplace doorstep with minimum set up time required. All we need is some space to deliver the course and a powerpoint to plug into and the course is underway!
Yes, all our courses are Nationally Accredited under the Australian Government auspiced training packages. This means your course is recognised in all states and territories and can be used as part of a stepped learning program if required. It also means that any modules attained in our courses will be recognised as completed in any other course that the modules appear in. The courses are also seen as requirements across many disciplines of many industries. This helps the training be relevant to many different roles or locations around the country.
